The Government supports this recommendation in principle and has published its response to all the recommendations in the Strategy.

<p>Steps should be taken to:</p>
<ol style="list-style-type: lower-alpha;">
<li>Improve the collection of organic waste through more commercial and household food waste collection services.</li>
<li>Target education and behaviour-change programmes to improve the take-up of organic waste collection.</li>
<li>Require landfill gas capture for all landfills that accept organic waste.</li>
</ol>
