The Government supports this recommendation in principle and has published its response to all the recommendations in the Strategy.

<p>This should include the following steps:</p>
<ol style="list-style-type: lower-alpha;">
<li>Require all infrastructure projects to incorporate waste-minimisation plans in procurement and design objectives and use recycled products where feasible.</li>
<li>Encourage prefabrication and standardised options as part of infrastructure delivery.</li>
<li>Investigate the efficacy of a resource exchange mechanism for infrastructure projects, through a partnership between government and the construction sector.</li>
</ol>
